Finished Reports: Pivot or Crosstab

In this post I want to cover the steps needed to switch between the pivot control and crosstab in the Finished Reports designer.

Why Change To Pivot Or Crosstab?

For the most part the two controls can do the same thing, with a major difference in how they are setup. With differences in how they are setup there also comes limitations on what can be done with the data so sometimes users may need to swap between the two.

Steps To Change To Pivot Or Crosstab

NOTE: Only available in version 11.0.2.0 or later.

1. Open VDM.

2. Click on Settings.

3. Change the Pivot or Crosstab setting under Finished Reports.

4. Open Finished Reports Designer and drag the cross tab / pivot into the report.
