Updates: March 2023 VDM and WebReports

In this post we cover the latest versions available for WebReports and VDM and some of the key features / tasks that were completed in the March updates.

VDM

Key Updates:

Bug Fixes

• Fixed challenge using the Recent option in the right click menu on the task bar, where an unhandled exception is given and a broken session of VDM opens.

• Fixed the Selected Schema drop down being blank inside an Interprose Ace Connection Wizard.

• You can no longer rename command tables to an invalid name, which would result in the table disappearing in VDM.

• Grid level expressions when on an Oracle connection no longer show the full file path.

• Fixed an issue when opening MDS views from WebReport connections, which would result in blank command tables.

• Fixed a typo in the description for "Value" on parameters.

• Addressed multiple challenges regarding the use of MQN_As (Multi Query Name Splitter).

• Finished Reports bindings are lost after using MQN_As to rename results.

  • Visualize bindings are lost after using MQN_As to rename results.
  • When using MQN_As there is no result indicator if you get no results in one of the result sets.
  • The result sets in Visualize would not clear out after renaming them using MQN_As.

Implemented Tasks / Features

• VDM files can now be associated with VDM and open VDM directly.

• Additional logging regarding calendar interaction has been added.

• Date Time Picker parameters have had visual adjustments making the current date no longer populate as a value over the selected value.

• Uploading reports to WebReports now has a version mismatch indicator. This will help eliminate any challenges with version mismatch between WebReports and VDM.

• VDM now supports naming the results that are returned from the Multi Query Splitter.

• The Data Type glyphs have been updated for MySql / ODBC connections.

• Executions can now be edited by right clicking on the execution itself.

• The scheduler masks passwords inside the job for PDF and XLSX export methods.

• The encryption options on XLS have been hidden.

• The parameters have been added to tabs allowing more fluid interaction between Parameters and Variable Filters.

• We have reverted back to the original OFD (Open File Dialogue) forms.

• Major development on core engine components that improve VDM's overall performance, scalability, stability and usability

• **New DLLs: **Upgraded to 22.2.4

• We have added an option for connection profiles to be considered roaming profiles.

• Roaming profiles will use the Username instead of the machine name for validation.

• The Open Additional Profiles form has been hidden from connection profiles.

• VDM now opens Maximized.

• We have added the following Environmental Reserved Words.

• The JOB API has been modified to run like a background task, enabling it to work with the Windows Task Scheduler.

WebReports

• Addressed challenge where reports using parameters that were enabled by another parameters value were being passed with null values causing the report to error.

• WebReports supports the Multi Query Name Split (MQN_As) that was released in the same version of VDM (12.0.6.0).

• Major development on core engine components that improve VDM's overall performance, scalability, stability and usability.

• We added support with VDM's new reserved words.
