Organizations rely on reporting platforms to deliver accurate information, automate business processes, and support decision-making across the enterprise. The VDM 2026.06.16 release introduces enhancements designed to simplify administration, improve reporting usability, and support long-term modernization initiatives.
This release includes a new Crystal Converter process for .NET 10, improvements to report visibility and Pivot Grid management, and several reliability updates that strengthen reporting and scheduling operations.
A New Step Forward for Crystal Reports Migration
One of the most significant additions in this release is the introduction of the new Crystal Converter process for .NET 10.
Many organizations continue to maintain Crystal Reports that have been developed and refined over many years. As reporting environments evolve, migrating those reports to modern platforms can be a complex undertaking.
The new Crystal Converter process provides the foundation for converting existing Crystal Reports into VDM Finished Reports within the .NET 10 environment. This capability helps organizations begin planning and executing modernization initiatives while preserving the value of existing reporting assets.
As businesses continue to move toward newer technologies, tools that simplify migration efforts become increasingly important. This release represents an important step in supporting that transition.
Better Visibility into Completed Reports
Understanding report activity is essential for administrators and business users alike.
To improve visibility, the Open Completed grid now provides clearer report information. The previous Name column has been renamed to Report Name, and a new Username column has been added to identify the user associated with each completed report.
These enhancements make it easier to review completed report activity, answer user questions, and understand reporting history without additional investigation.
Preserve Pivot Layouts While Updating Data
Reporting environments change frequently as new fields and data requirements are introduced.
The enhanced Reload Fields (Preserve Pivot) functionality allows users to refresh available fields after query changes while retaining their existing Pivot Grid configuration whenever possible. Existing layouts, grouping, sorting, filters, summaries, and formatting can remain intact, reducing the need to rebuild complex Pivot views after updating a query.
This improvement helps users adapt reports to changing data requirements while minimizing rework.
Simplified Connection Configuration
The InterProse ACE WebReports connection screen now includes an Auto Detect ACE Data Type option directly within the connection configuration interface.
By making this setting available during the standard connection setup process, administrators can more easily configure and manage connection behavior without additional configuration steps. This small enhancement helps streamline setup and improve overall usability.
Stronger Reliability Across Reporting and Scheduling
This release also delivers a collection of fixes focused on reliability and consistency.
Enhancements to Subreport handling ensure parameter changes are applied correctly, saved configurations are retained, and scheduled exports include all expected report content. Scheduler improvements address recurring appointment management, duplicate appointment cleanup, service stability, and recurring series updates.
Additional updates improve multi-profile query execution, cache connection usability, and installation configuration imports.
Together, these changes help create a more dependable experience for organizations that rely on automated reporting and scheduled processes every day.
Looking Ahead
VDM 2026.06.16 continues our focus on helping organizations modernize their reporting environments while improving the usability and reliability of everyday workflows. From Crystal Reports migration support and enhanced report visibility to more resilient scheduling and reporting operations, this release provides meaningful improvements for both administrators and report developers.
