VDM July 2026 Update 2026.07.22: Improved Database Linking and Clearer Dynamic Parameters

The latest VDM release is now available. Version 2026.07.22 focuses on improving database linking, making dynamic parameter results easier to understand, and ensuring application settings are saved consistently.

Clearer Dynamic Parameter Headings

Dynamic parameter results now display the field name or query alias as the value column heading instead of the generic heading “Value.”

This makes it easier to understand the available parameter selections when configuring or running a View.

Settings Are Saved When Opening a View File

VDM settings are now saved correctly when the application is opened directly from a VDM View file.

Previously, changes made during these sessions might not have been retained when VDM was opened normally later. Settings are now handled consistently regardless of how the application is launched.

Improved Database Linking Responsiveness

This release resolves an issue that could cause VDM to become unresponsive while users created or modified database table links.

Database linking should now remain responsive when tables, fields, and link filters are rearranged or updated.

More Reliable Historical Table Linking

VDM now handles historical table links more reliably by arranging linked tables in the correct dependency order.

This helps produce consistent joins even when related tables are added to a View in different orders.

Update to the Latest Version

VDM version 2026.07.22 delivers a more reliable experience when working with database links, dynamic parameters, and application settings.

As always, we strongly recommend testing the update in a non-production environment before deploying it to production.
