Every VDM release aims to remove friction from day-to-day work, and the 2026.05.12 release is no exception. This update introduces improvements that help users communicate more effectively, simplify troubleshooting, and make scheduled jobs easier to configure and manage.
Whether you're building reports, managing automated processes, or supporting users across your organization, these enhancements are designed to make common tasks faster and more reliable.
Turn Voice Conversations into Searchable Text
One of the most noticeable additions in this release is enhanced voice transcription within Bridgit Chat.
Users can now record voice messages directly in a chat conversation and automatically convert those recordings into text. This makes it easier to share information quickly while still maintaining a searchable, written record of the conversation.
For teams that collaborate frequently through Bridgit, this feature provides the convenience of voice communication without sacrificing documentation and visibility.
Easier Troubleshooting with More Detailed Logs
When something goes wrong, good diagnostics matter.
This release includes several logging enhancements that provide administrators and support teams with more information when troubleshooting issues. Email attachment failures now capture complete error details, making it easier to identify configuration issues, mail server problems, or attachment-related errors.
Scheduler logs have also been expanded to include appointment names, job names, and execution details. Instead of reviewing generic log entries, users can now more easily identify exactly which scheduled process ran and what occurred during execution.
These improvements help reduce investigation time and provide clearer visibility into system activity.
More Flexible Scheduler Configuration
Scheduling jobs often requires working with dynamic dates such as "today," "first day of the month," or other relative values.
Previously, users needed to complete the Scheduler Execution Wizard and then manually edit parameters to use reserved words. With this release, reserved words can now be selected directly within the Date Time Picker.
This small change removes extra steps from the scheduling process and makes it easier to build automated jobs that adapt to changing dates without manual intervention.
Reliability Improvements Throughout VDM
In addition to new features, this release includes a collection of fixes and usability improvements across the platform.
Several updates improve Bridgit Chat behavior, file attachment handling, scheduler parameter management, query logging, saved view persistence, and user interface layout controls. These changes help create a more consistent and reliable experience while reducing the likelihood of interruptions during everyday use.
While individual fixes may seem small on their own, together they contribute to a smoother experience for report developers, administrators, and business users alike.
Looking Ahead
VDM 2026.05.12 continues our focus on improving usability, transparency, and operational efficiency. From voice transcription in Bridgit Chat to enhanced diagnostics and more streamlined scheduler configuration, this release helps users spend less time managing tools and more time working with their data.
