WebReports Version 2026.9.9.0: New Extension Management and Bridgit Chat Improvements
BridgeWorks has released WebReports Version 2026.9.9.0, introducing a new way to securely deliver and manage customer-specific functionality while also improving the display of tables within Bridgit Chat.
This release focuses on making WebReports more flexible for organizations that need specialized functionality without requiring those features to be included in every standard WebReports update.
Introducing WebReports Extensions
The biggest addition in this release is a new extension-management framework for WebReports.
Extensions allow approved customer-specific functionality to be delivered and managed independently from the standard WebReports release cycle. This provides more flexibility when an organization requires specialized features or integrations that are not intended for every WebReports environment.
Authorized administrators can discover, install, update, configure, and manage approved extensions directly within WebReports.
Extension management can include:
Configuration settings
Database connection bindings
Permissions
Runtime status
Extension updates
Signed extension packages and company-specific access controls also help ensure that only compatible and authorized extensions are available within an organization's WebReports environment.
Improved Bridgit Chat Tables
This release also resolves an issue affecting Markdown tables in Bridgit Chat.
Following recent WebReports security updates, some tables could lose their expected formatting when displayed in Bridgit Chat.
Tables now display correctly with their intended:
Layout
Borders
Spacing
Headers
Alternating row colors
The updated table formatting works in both light and dark themes, helping keep Bridgit responses clear and easy to read.
Update to WebReports Version 2026.9.9.0
WebReports Version 2026.9.9.0 expands the platform's flexibility with the introduction of WebReports Extensions while continuing to improve the Bridgit AI experience.
As with any software update, BridgeWorks recommends testing the new version in a non-production environment before deploying it to production.
The system hosting WebReports must also have the ASP.NET Core Runtime 10 Hosting Bundle installed.
